Emily: Hello Tomiwa, Please introduce yourself…
Tomiwa: My name is Tomiwa Abiodun AKA Tomiwa sings.
Emily: Wow! So what drew you to the music industry?
Tomiwa: Well music has been something I grow up with, I was always around music and I started playing drums when I was 9.
Emily: WOW! Who are you inspired by?
Tomiwa: I watched my uncle write his songs every time, always practicing and his passion inspired me to music. I also watched Micheal Jackson filled stadiums without internet and I knew this is what I wanted to be “An icon” also the legendary Wizkid is also a big inspiration to my music too.
Emily: AWESOME!!! Please explain your creative process ?
Tomiwa: I love been creative, I love been unique because we all have a unique story to share. My creative process basically revolves around the things I see daily, everything around me inspires me with the music.
Emily: What’s an average day like for you?
Tomiwa: Go to the studio work on my sound, I feel I need to do better every time and I love being myself at all scenes.
Emily: Is there a hidden meaning in any of your music?
Tomiwa: Music is for everyone & it explores your minds differently, it’s all about the good happy vibes so no hidden meaning on my songs… LOL
Emily: Do you collaborate with others? What is that process?
Tomiwa: Not yet basically am still working on building my brand making it solid enough but collaborations will come in later. So watch out
Emily: Alright. Please discuss how you interact with and respond to fans
Tomiwa: I really don’t call them fans LOL…My supporters are very important to me it’s the real reason I go hard, A lot of difficult challenges but their genuine love and support got through this phases.
Emily: What is your favorite part about this line of work? Your least favorite?
Tomiwa: I never get tired of making music and always pushes me to do more with the music. For me it’s publicity which is not a one day thing but I don’t want to do for five years music career, music is a forever thing for me.
Emily: Cool, have you ever dealt with performance anxiety?
Tomiwa: Yes a lot but am not really that shy normally so even when I make a mistake, am very swift to cover it up.
Emily: Okay, tell me about your favorite performance venues
Tomiwa: I haven’t performed to many, But I love the fela shrine, O2 arena, and other top notch places
Emily: So what advice would you have for someone wanting to follow in your footsteps?
Tomiwa: Well God first in anything you do, Believe crazy in yourself and don’t let other people energy disrupt your energy. Be very focused cos challenges will come always but the end should be better than the beginning.
